Séminaire Ecobio - Marta Martin Huete (Univ. Barcelona)

Marine ecosystems are increasingly threatened by warming, acidification, and other environmental changes caused by climate change. Echinoderms, including sea stars and urchins, are key components of Mediterranean ecosystems, and provide a model to study how these marine invertebrates respond to rapid changes.
My research integrates genomic and physiological approaches (e.g. respirometry) to examine how genome architecture and phenotypic plasticity interact in shaping species’ resilience and vulnerability, offering insights into their capacity to cope with a rapidly changing ocean.
