Badume's Band & Sélamnesh Zéméné

Depuis 2007, le groupe Badume's Band revisite l'âge d'or de la musique éthiopienne. Leurs tournées avec les légendaires Mahmoud Ahmed et Alémayéhu Eshèté les mènent jusqu’en 2015 sur les scènes mondiales prestigieuses. En 2012, ils font la rencontre de celle qui fait danser le tout Addis Abeba, la jeune chanteuse azmari Selamnesh Zéméné avec laquelle il enregistre un premier album remarqué Ale Gena Ethiopia. Tout comme sa tante Eténèsh Wassié, Selamnesh Zéméné est considérée comme l’une des grandes voix féminines d’Ethiopie. En 2018, au Womad-UK (révélation) ils présentaient un aperçu du répertoire préfigurant ce nouvel album sorti le 17 septembre dans lequel Selamnesh apporte son écriture poétique et le Badume's Band les arrangements.

Since 2007, Badume's Band revisits the golden age of Ethiopian music. Their tours with the legendary Mahmoud Ahmed and Alémayéhu Eshèté lead them to prestigious world stages until 2015. In 2012, they met the young Azmari singer Selamnesh Zéméné, who made the whole of Addis Ababa dance, and with whom they recorded their first album Ale Gena Ethiopia. Like his aunt Eténèsh Wassié, Selamnesh Zéméné is considered one of the great female voices of Ethiopia. In 2018, at Womad-UK (revelation) they presented a preview of the repertoire prefiguring this new album released on September 17 in which Selamnesh brings her poetic writing and Badume's Band the arrangements.
