De nouveaux médicaments pour traiter un parasite

Our research program aims to join the complementary competencies and research lines of Brazilian and French groups, so as to develop innovative drugs for a treatment of leishmaniasis, a neglected parasitic disease that affects humans and dogs in France and, more severely, in Brazil. More specifically, the Brazilian group brings a new class of antileishmanial drugs and its competency for the development of innovative pharmaceutical formulations based on liposomes. The French group is contributing with its extensive experience in preclinical assays of drug candidates for leishmaniasis and the discovery of new drugs, especially quinoline derivatives.
